The Merida Speeder Limited 50 is a flat-bar road bike with a performance focus and makes an excellent commuter or recreational bike. The Speeder Limited’s frame is made from Racelite 61 Aluminium (6066) and is lighter and more advanced than previous years. Merida use an additional heat treatment and double-butted wall thickness to produce light and stiff frames. The frame geometry allows you to have a relaxed and upright riding position that is comfortable and gives you more control with less effort. The Speeder Limited has a full carbon fork for lightweight control and durability, dampening road vibrations more effectively than an alloy fork and working seamlessly with the frame to form a comfortable and efficient bike.
The flat-bar riding position is very comfortable, providing you with better visibility and control compared to the traditional drop-bar road bikes, particularly when riding a bit slower. The Speeder Limited is equipped with disc brakes to give you reliable stopping power in any conditions, and an 11 speed SRAM drivetrain that will give you a very smooth ride. Maxxis Detonator 700x32c tyres will also help give you that smooth ride and make sure that you are comfortable.

Comfortable Yet Sporty Geometry: The SPEEDER has become more sporty. By increasing the length of the top tube, we have achieved a slightly longer reach which offers the rider a more sportive riding position while still being on the comfortable side. Furthermore, this geometry change leads to a longer wheelbase, which has a positive effect on directional stability and in combination with the slightly slacker head tube angle, improves the riding stability at speed.
Speeder Lite Frame: Lightweight 6066 triple butted and hydroformed aluminium frame with smooth welding and internal cable routing. Complete with mudguard and rack mounts.
Sophisticated Frame: We use 6066 series aluminium, the highest level generally used in bike production. Its metallic composition allows it to be extensively hydroformed (a process of forcing a hot emulsion of water and oil through tubes in a negative mould). This allows us to vary wall thicknesses and tune the frame to be both strong where it is needed and flexible where required.
Disc brakes: All MISSION CX and CYCLO CROSS models are equipped with disc brakes, providing high-performance braking isolated from the weather and muddy conditions due to their location at the wheel's hub/centre. The new MISSION CX models now feature flat mount brake standard for a neat and flush positioning of the brake caliper.
