99 BIKES | OUR RANGE OF ELECTRIC CARGO BIKES FOR SALE
At 99 bikes We stock a range of electric cargo bikes from brands like Cube and Pedal. Cargo bikes are relatively new in the market and gaining popularity as many riders ditch their car in favour of greener alternatives.
What is a cargo bike?
Cargo bikes are a new style of electric bike that is designed to bridge the gap between Car and Bike. They allow you to carry some serious weight while still getting around on pedal power! All of our E-Cargo bikes come with powerful hydraulic disc brakes and pedal-assisted motors ranging from 85-120nm, this is comparable to what you would find on a high-end electric mountain bike. Cargo bikes also come with the option to have dual batteries increasing the range of the bike significantly.
How do they ride?
If you are looking to purchase an electric Cargo bike but are worried you will struggle to ride it, fear not! If you can comfortably ride a normal bike it will take you no time to get familiar with riding a cargo bike.
The low centre of gravity and long wheelbase make the bike feel super stable while riding and the mid-drive motor makes for a natural pedal feeling. There is a slight learning curve when it comes to riding with additional weight as it requires you to be alert and reactive to the weight shifting or bumps in the road. One upside to riding a larger bike is that vehicles are more aware of you and less likely to try to squeeze past you!
What can I carry and how far can I ride?
Cargo bikes are designed to carry upwards of 150 kg on the bike across a range of racks and cargo boxes. What you choose to carry in is completely up to you! On a dual battery cargo bike, you could see over 100kms of range meaning a trip to the shops for groceries is a piece of cake. Cargo bikes are also great for getting the little ones out of the house as you can safely seat 2 children without the need for a trailer or tag along.
