Merida Speeder 500 is a performance focused flat-bar road bike. Merida Speeder 500 is designed for people looking to ride for fitness or recreation on bike paths, as well as for regular commuting.
The bike features a lightweight alloy frame with a full carbon fibre fork. The carbon fork acts to reduce the overall weight of the bike, as well as improving comfort by dampening road vibrations more effectively than an alloy fork.
The upright riding position provided by the flat handlebars gives the rider great visibility and control of the bike, particularly at lower speeds. A tapered head tube acts to create front end stiffness, which means smooth and precise handling.
Hydraulic disc brakes from Shimano provide excellent stopping power and improved control over braking, particularly in wet conditions. A Shimano Ultegra drivetrain gives the rider a wide spread of gears, accurate gear changes, and fantastic longevity. Shimano Ultegra is used to spec race level road bikes, which means Speeder 500 provides the best in shifting performance.
28mm tyres provide a good balance of speed, efficiency and comfort. Overall, Merida Speeder 500 is a fantastic flat bar road bike, ideal for someone who doesnât like the feel of drop bars but is still looking for a quick commute or to ride recreationally.
