Merida Reacto 7000-E is a carbon fibre road bike with Shimano Ultegra Di2 electronic shifting. Reacto 7000-E balances aerodynamics, acceleration, handling and comfort. The Reacto is designed to minimise the effect of air resistance on the bike, maximising speed without sacrificing other factors such as weight, stiffness and comfort. This means the Reacto retains the versatility and comfort of a road bike, but takes off when you put the foot down, and holds well at high speed.
The Reacto frame platform is favoured by Team Lampre Merida in the UCI Pro Tour, particularly in shorter, flatter stages and races. This means models throughout the series benefit from the research and technological innovation that goes into building a bike to perform at the highest level.
Merida’s NANO Matrix carbon technology uses NANO-particles to reinforce the matrix structure of the carbon fibre which offers up to 40% more strength and impact resistance than commonly used methods.
A tapered head tube provides more strength and stiffness through the front end of the bike, which means improved overall handling. Flex Stay technology in the rear allows the carbon to offer some vertical movement, which is designed to absorb bumps and vibrations to create a more comfortable ride. Additionally, S-Flex technology further improves comfort by absorbing vibrations through a cut out section in the seatpost.
Ultegra Di2 11 speed is a great advance in technology, making high performance electronic shifting and 11 speed drivetrain accessible to the everyday rider. 11 speed means much more incremental changes as you shift through gears, allowing you to maintain a more consistent cadence and pedalling efficiency throughout your ride. Electronic shifting is precise and effortless, meaning perfect gear changes every time, as well as little need for on-going tuning. Internal cable routing provides a clean aesthetic as well as protecting the cables and prolonging their lifespan.
