Merida Big Trail 500 is an aggressive hardtail mountain bike. Great for the rider looking to tackle more adventurous trails but prefers the feel of a bike without rear suspension.
With a lightweight alloy frame designed around the Boost axle sizing, you can expect a stiff and responsive bike.
The 27.5+ wheel size gives the smooth rollover feel of a 29er, but also gives you additional cushioning and traction. The Maxxis Reckon 2.8” tyres provide outstanding grip, giving you the confidence to tackle trails normally better suited to dual suspension bikes.
With a dropper seatpost and one-by-eleven drivetrain as standard, this bike comes with equipment normally reserved for bikes at much higher price point. The dropper seat post gives the rider more room to move and more confidence in the steep sections. The Sram NX drivetrain does away with the front derailleur, but still gives the rider a wide range of gears. This means fewer dropped chains, less mechanicals, and more time riding.
