With an 8-speed Shimano drivetrain, you'll get the reliability that comes with Shimano parts and enough gears for the younger ones to get used to mountain bikes and the 24 inch Kenda tyres. Kids can be wild sometimes and when they are still growing and learning they'll need to be able to stop at a moments notices. The Promax Mechanical disc brakes provide excellent braking power even if there is a bit of mud or rain around.
