Northwave began in 1971 in the footwear-making district of Montebelluna, northern Italy, founded by Gianni Piva as a specialist in ski boot liners and winter footwear. Over time it expanded into snowboarding boots and in 1993 introduced its first mountain-bike shoes, carried by bold colour and technical breakthroughs.

Today Northwave still designs and tests its products in mountain terrain, maintaining roots in craftsmanship, innovation and refined style.
