Product Details

Description

The Tioga Powerblock Race BMX Tyre is crafted to maximize the transfer of pedal power into forward motion, ensuring faster rolling with minimal energy loss. It features a steel bead and a robust sidewall for enhanced durability. The tyre balances performance and value, with a unique texture pattern on the sidewall that provides abrasion protection while maintaining flexibility.

Key Features

  • The outer knobs are about half the length of the transition knobs and are designed for maximum compression and traction at lean angles greater than 25 degrees. While typically not needed during a clean race, they are crucial if conditions become challenging, ensuring tracking during aggressive maneuvers and cornering to provide maximum grip and help you finish faster.
  • The center row, known as the "Power Block," is crucial during acceleration as heavy pedaling torque is transferred to the center tread zone of the rear tire. If these center knobs are too small or tall, they will flex and stick to the ground longer before take-off, wasting energy. Conversely, if they are too big or short, the tire may slip under heavy torque before regaining traction, slowing you down. Each Power Block is proportionally sized to handle torque without sticking and is perfectly balanced in height to minimize slipping while maintaining low rolling resistance after take-off.
  • The transition knobs are substantially smaller than the center blocks and are in exact proportion to them. They are designed to deform slightly at lean angles greater than 15 degrees, providing traction by "sticking" to the ground. Positioned at a 45-degree angle relative to the center knobs, they help maintain forward momentum during side-to-side transitions and cornering.
