Description
The Merida Mission CX 400 is a dynamic cyclocross bike built for high speeds on race day or just any off-road ride. Whether you want to race cyclocross or you're looking for a high-quality recreational road bike which can handle a few bumps and go off-road. To make a bike this durable, it all starts with Merida’s high-end ProLite 6066 Triple Butted Aluminium frame which is built with an excellent stiffness to weight ratio. While the carbon fork minimises weight and further improves stiffness thanks to a 12mm bolt through the axle.
The Mission CX 400 is equipped with a 2x11 speed Shimano 105 Groupset to give you reliable shifting and efficiency on the gravel or the road. You’ll be pushing all of your power through the Merida Comp SL Wheels and Maxxis Mud Wrestler 700x33c tyres which give you the ideal combination of speed and traction off-road. New on the 2021 model are the Shimano 105 Hydraulic Disc Brakes will give you the braking control you need on the dirt and gravel. The Mission CX 400 is built for your versatile needs, with the ability to mount mudguards and the increased tyre clearance which helps when you’re riding through the mud. The Merida Mission CX 400 is a racing cyclocross bike which isn’t out of place in everyday life on a commute or a ride that travels on many different surfaces.
Features
Mission CX Lite Frame: Triple butted and hydroformed 6066 aluminium frame with smooth welding, ‘Smart Entry’ internal cable routing and mudguard mounts. Precise steering courtesy of a tapered head tube. The flat mount rear caliper is mounted on the chainstay which is better for dissipating braking forces but also keeps it protected inside the rear triangle.
Carbon Fork: All MISSION CX models feature a full carbon tapered fork with a 12 mm bolt through axle. The bolt through improves stiffness for the axle, whilst the tapered carbon steerer increases vertical stiffness, providing very precise steering and enhanced confidence in corners.
Disc Brakes: All MISSION CX and CYCLO CROSS models are equipped with disc brakes, providing high-performance braking isolated from the weather and muddy conditions due to their location at the wheel's hub/centre. The new MISSION CX models now feature flat mount brake standard for a neat and flush positioning of the brake caliper.
Adaptability: All our MISSION CX models have the ability to add mudguards, making them more versatile, particularly when used as a training or commuting bike. The removable seat stay bridge (not available on aluminium models) stays in place to securely hold the rear mudguard or gets removed for a cleaner look and improved mud clearance.
Increased Clearance: Our new MISSION CX features a new frame design with an updated geometry giving it plenty of tyre and toe clearance. Both hugely important on twisty and muddy cyclo cross courses.
