Product Details

Description

The Maxxis Shorty Folding MTB Tyre is designed for versatility in deep loam or loose powder. It meets the needs of pro athletes for a mid-spike tire that performs well in dry, loose, blown-out corners and can handle some mud. With a high-volume casing, it offers more versatility than a dedicated mud spike like the Wet Scream. The large, tall, and slightly staggered side knobs penetrate loose soil, ensuring predictable and stable cornering at high speeds. Available in trail, enduro, and downhill specifications.

Key Features

  • Mid-spike tread design
  • High-volume casing
  • DH: DH Casing involves two layers of casing material from bead to bead, offering extra protection and sidewall stiffness for downhill use.
  • 3C MaxxGrip: Utilizes the softest rubber compounds for maximum grip and slow rebound, providing exceptional traction in downhill scenarios.
  • WT: Wide Trail (WT) construction enhances the tire's tread layout and profile for modern, wider rims. While traditional tires are designed for older, narrower rims, WT tires prevent an overly square profile, optimizing performance. They are best suited for a 35mm inner rim width but can function well within a 30-35mm range, based on rider preference.
  • TR: Tubeless-Ready (TR) tires offer benefits like the ability to run lower air pressures for improved traction, reduced rolling resistance compared to tube-type tires, and a decreased risk of flats due to the absence of a tube. Liquid sealants should be used only in tubeless road, tubular, and tubeless-ready tires.
