The Maxxis Rekon MTB Tyre is designed for intermediate and technical terrain, featuring wide knobs down the center for enhanced braking control and L-shaped side knobs for stability in loose turns. This aggressive trail tire, inspired by the Ikon, allows you to race confidently and explore new trails with ease.
Key Features
- Wide Trail (WT) construction optimizes the tire's tread layout and profile for modern, wider rims. Traditional tires are designed for older, narrower rims, which can create an overly square tire profile and lead to suboptimal performance. WT tires are optimized for a 35mm inner rim width but work well with a range from 30-35mm, depending on rider preference.
- TR: Tubeless tires offer many benefits, including the ability to run lower air pressures for improved traction, lower rolling resistance compared to tube-type tires, and a reduced chance of flats since there is no tube.
- 3C MaxxTerra: This is an intermediate compound configuration used in select mountain tires. 3C MaxxTerra is softer and provides more traction than 3C MaxxSpeed, while offering better treadwear and less rolling resistance than MaxxGrip.
- EXO: A highly cut-resistant and abrasion-resistant material added to the sidewalls of select mountain tires. This densely woven fabric is lightweight and flexible, ensuring the tire's performance remains unaffected.
