The Maxxis Rekon 3C MaxxTerra EXO+ TR Folding Tyre 29 x 2.6 Black is an aggressive trail tyre inspired by the Maxxis Ikon, offering exceptional performance and control on intermediate and technical terrain. Its wide centre knobs provide ample braking control, while the L-shaped side knobs ensure confident carving through loose corners. Featuring 3C MaxxTerra, this tyre utilizes a unique three-compound approach for superior traction, improved tread wear, and reduced rolling resistance compared to other compounds. EXO+ protection combines Silkshield and EXO technologies, significantly enhancing tread puncture protection, sidewall durability, and resistance to pinch flats for a more robust ride. Additionally, its Tubeless Ready design allows for lower air pressure, improving traction, reducing rolling resistance, and minimizing flats with the use of liquid sealant.

Using a unique 3 compound approach, Maxxis has designed 3C MaxxTerra to provide a soft compound on the shoulders (outer edges of the tyre tread) a medium compound in the centre and a hard compound on the base layer (area closest to your inner tube). What this means is you'll have better traction than 3C MaxxSpeed yet still have a longer life with better tread wear and less rolling resistance than 3C MaxxGrip

EXO+

EXO+ Protection combines Maxxis Silkshield and EXO into one which improves tread puncture protection by 27%; sidewall durability by 51%; and resistance to pinch flats by 28%. Silkshield offers bead-to-bead protection against punctures while EXO provides cut-resistant and abrasian-resistant sidewalls. What does this mean? Better protection on every ride.

Tubeless Ready

This tyre is ready to provide you with heaps of benefits when you set it up tubeless with a tubeless compatible rim! With a tubeless setup you can run lower air pressure in your tyres allowing better deflection meaning better traction, and lower rolling resistance - you'll also get less flats than with an inner tube as liquid sealant can help block any small punctures in the tyre keeping you riding for longer!
