The Maxxis Assegai WT 3C MaxxGrip DD TR Folding Tyre 27.5 x 2.5 Black is named after the fierce Zulu spear, ready to battle any trail with its fast and aggressive design. Featuring tall knobs, this tyre punches through dust and loose dirt for exceptional grip, while also anchoring down on wet roots and rocks to provide unwavering support and confidence. Its 3C MaxxGrip compound offers ultimate traction with a soft shoulder, medium center, and hard base layer, specifically engineered for race-day performance. Built with Double Down technology, it provides downhill-level protection and support in a lighter package, thanks to two 120TPI casing layers reinforced with a butyl insert. Plus, its Tubeless Ready design allows for lower pressures, enhanced traction, reduced rolling resistance, and fewer flats, ensuring you stay on the trail longer.

3C MaxxGrip

Using a unique 3 compund approach, Maxxis has designed the 3C MaxxGrip to provide a soft compound on the shoulders (outer edges of the tyre tread) a medium compound in the centre and a hard compound on the base layer (area closest to your inner tube). This means you'll experience the softest rubber compound to offer the ultimate grip and slow rebound proprties giving you confidence inpsiring traction in descents. MaxxGrip is softer than MaxxTerra and is purely foccussed on giving you the most grip possible on race day!

Double Down (DD)

Double Down an evolution in tyre technology aimed as giving enduro riders the support and protection benefit of a downhill tyre in a lighter weight package. Double Down tyres feature two 120TPI casing layers down near the bead, they're reinforced with a butyl insert, absolutely ready to be pushed to the limit during an enduro race. If you need downhill performance but need to pedal up the hill too, this technolgy will do the job!

Tubeless Ready

This tyre is ready to provide you with heaps of benefits when you set it up tubeless with a tubeless compatible rim! With a tubeless setup you can run lower air pressure in your tyres allowing better deflection meaning better traction, and lower rolling resistance - you'll also get less flats than with an inner tube as liquid sealant can help block any small punctures in the tyre keeping you riding for longer!
