If your bike rides into the night, NiteRider offers lighting you can trust to keep going—made tough, made bright, made to be seen. Based in California since 1989, their lights are built with serious performance tech that regular riders can afford and use every day.
The NiteRider Story
NiteRider began when founder Tom Carroll wanted light to surf after dark in Southern California, and couldn’t find anything up to the task. He built lights that survived surf, salt water and the elements, then took that same durability into the cycling world in 1993, answering the call of 24-hour bike racers. The company remains family-run with its headquarters in Poway, California, still designing and assembling lights with the same attention to toughness and honouring its surf-origin roots.
The real benefit for cyclists today is gear that’s proven in severe conditions: water and dust resistance, solid optics, reliable batteries. That means more time on the trail or road and less worry when you’re pedalling in rain or in the dark.

Why Ride NiteRider?
- Built Tough from the Start. Lights are made to be water- and dust-resistant to FL-1 or IP64/IP66 standards so they cope with spray, mud and downpours.
- Real Output, Measurable Performance. NiteRider publishes lumen numbers, modes, run times, weight and battery specs so you know what riding time and visibility you’ll get.
- Smart Design You Notice. Features like low-battery indicators, travel-lock modes, quick-release mounts and USB-C or USB-Rechargeable batteries make setup, storage and charging easy.
- Owned by Riders. From surfing to night riding, the founder learning what’s needed under harsh conditions means every light is tested by demanding users—and that filters down to everyday cycling gear.
Popular NiteRider Ranges Explained
NiteRider Lumina
NiteRider Lumina lights are high-output front lights in the 1000-1499 lumens range designed for serious visibility whether you’re riding trails at dusk or tackling long road rides. The Lumina range includes features like aluminium heat sinks, side visibility, and rugged construction that translate pro tech into dependable gear.
NiteRider Swift
The Swift lights sit in the 500-999 lumens bracket for front-of-bike lighting that balances punch and value. The Swift series delivers bright, compact illumination with reliable run times and easy USB recharging so you stay visible without bulk or extra weight.
NiteRider Niterider
The Niterider combo sets pack both front and rear lighting (500-999 lumens front) into one package. They offer versatile setups for daily ridden use or night-trail work, providing consistency and simplified gear so you can mount, ride, and go.
NiteRider Solas
Solas lights are rear (tail) lights that focus on visibility and safety. Expect daylight-visible flash modes, long run times and USB rechargeability so you’re seen from behind under all light conditions.
NiteRider Vmax
Vmax rear lights deliver brighter, more powerful rear visibility (100+ lumens) with features like mode memory, multiple flash patterns, and compact form factors made to mount easily. Ideal when being seen by traffic or in poor visibility is non-negotiable.
