Imagine being seen and staying informed in every ride, whether it’s a moonlit street or a muddy trail. Cateye lights offer bright, reliable safety while their computers give the numbers you actually care about without confusing menus or flashy gimmicks. With gear that’s built tough and tuned for what riders really need, Cateye keeps things simple and solid.

The Cateye Story

Cateye began in Osaka, Japan in 1954 as a small metalworks shop, before launching its first reflector in 1957 and the first flashing bicycle light in 1964. They introduced their first cycle computer in 1981 and pushed the boundaries again in 2001 with the first bicycle head lamp using white light-emitting diodes.

Years of innovation in reflector technology, lens design, lighting performance and electronics have gone into every Cateye product. Today those advances translate into brighter lights, clear computer displays and dependable forms built to take knocks—all of which riders at 99 Bikes count on every ride.

Why Ride Cateye?

  • Generations of precision and safety built-in: since high-visibility reflectors in 1957 and flashing lights in 1964, Cateye has been engineering features that protect riders thought-fully.
  • Durable electronics designed for real conditions: their bike computers are rigorously tested, water resistant with long battery life, and screens are readable even in sunlight or low light.
  • Sensor compatibility and clarity: many newer Cateye computers work with speed, cadence, heart rate and power sensors using ANT+ and Bluetooth, giving you reliable data without locking you in just to Cateye parts.
  • ISO certified quality and sustainability: Cateye’s factories uphold strong international quality, environmental and safety standards so the gear you ride is responsibly made and performs consistently.
