Ergon grips are about more than holding onto the bars—they’re about comfort, control and reducing hand fatigue so you get the most out of every ride. Made with thoughtful shapes and premium materials, they bring high-end performance to everyday riders. Explore the grips that make your hands feel strong and supported, ride after ride.

The Ergon Story

Ergon is a cycling-components brand founded in 2003 in Koblenz, Germany. The founders recognised early that many riders suffered from hand numbness, wrist strain and discomfort due to poor grip design, so they built a brand focused entirely on ergonomics at the contact points between rider and bike.

Design, engineering and product development still happen in Germany, where materials are sourced for quality and environmental care. That history of established research and testing translates into grips that protect nerves, spread pressure and last longer—so you enjoy riding more comfortably, even on rough terrain.

Why Ride Ergon?

  • Palm-friendly shapes. Ergon designs grips that match the natural curve of the hand and reduce pressure on key nerves like the ulnar artery, helping avoid numbness on long or rough rides.
  • Premium rubber compounds made in Germany. Their compounds are UV-stable, free of harmful substances and developed through material testing that exceeds typical cycling standards.
  • Thoughtful grip zones and texture patterns. Every grip features zones optimised for grip or pull-force, along with patterns that help you hold on securely without squeezing too hard.
  • Lock-on and clamp-secure models. Integrated aluminium or forged inner clamps ensure grips stay in place under all riding conditions while maximising usable surface and comfort.

Popular Ergon Ranges Explained

Ergon GD1

The Ergon GD1 grip is aimed squarely at gravity, downhill and enduro riding. It has a tapered profile that gives more damping on the outer edge while remaining slim toward the inner end so you can maintain control without bending your fingers around a large diameter bar.

Ergon GE1

The Ergon GE1 Evo is built with input from enduro riders, with wide-riser handlebar support, a softer gravity rubber compound and distinct grip-zones that help control the bar with less fatigue especially during big, rough descents.

Ergon GA2

The Ergon GA2 balances all-mountain and gravity demands. It uses super-soft, UV-stable compound exclusive to Ergon, with right and left-specific ergonomic shapes and varied wall thickness to reduce vibration and deliver more comfort without compromising feedback or security.
