Brooks is about timeless comfort, unhurried craftsmanship and ride-friendly gear that gets better with every kilometre. This is more than accessories. Your ride, tailored by tradition; your bike, made yoursâdown to the last stitch and rivet.
The Brooks Story
Since 1866 Brooks England has handcrafted saddles and accessories in Smethwick, England. Founded by John Boultbee Brooksâa leather worker who found wooden bicycle seats unbearable after losing his horseâBrooks patented its first leather bicycle saddle in 1882 and built its name on quality and fit that grow with the rider. Over the years ownership has shifted; Brooks is now part of the Selle Royal group. Despite change, leather saddles are still made in the original UK factory, keeping watchful hands involved in every step.
That heritage matters today. You donât just get a Brooks productâyou gain a saddle that breaks in uniquely to your shape, a bag built from decades of travel know-how, and bar tape crafted to fit and feel. All with the confidence of centuries behind them.

Why Ride Brooks?
- Heritage craftsmanship that still counts. Leather is shaped and cut by hand in Brooksâ original workshops. That means every Brooks product is born of attention to detail not mass output.
- Materials that evolve. Vegetable-tanned leather, vulcanised rubber and organic textiles react to your shape or the weather. They deliver comfort that improves with time instead of one-size-fits-all performance.
- Guarantee of lasting quality. Leather saddles carry extended warranties and local repair options. When cared for they resist wear and continue to do their job for years.
- Designs built for real ridden experience. Springs where relaxationâs needed, narrow leathers for more athletic lean, waterproof rubber where weather hitsâall Brooks thinks through how people actually ride.
Popular Brooks Ranges Explained
Brooks B17
The B17 blends classic saddle form and comfort with a thick, hand-cut, vegetable-tanned leather top that moulds to you. Expect the side stamp, stitched-on backplate and a hammock-like feel as you ride. Excellent if you cycle for commuting, touring, or gravel & road work. Comes with an extended 10-year guarantee.
Brooks Swift
The Swift is Brooksâ narrow leather racing saddle made with hand-skived lower flaps and copper rivets. Lean and responsive, it fits forward riding positions, so itâs well suited to fast road or gravel use where comfort still matters.
Brooks Flyer
The Flyer builds on the B17 leather top adding dual rear springs and Nubuck treatment so break-in is quicker and comfort cranked up. Easy choice for relaxed commuting, vintage builds or longer days in the saddle.
Brooks Microfibre Bar
The Microfibre Bar Tape brings texture, grip and durability with a synthetic textile coated in polyurethane. It handles rain, wick-away sweat and stand up to rugged roadsâbright idea for drop bars and wrist fatigue.
Brooks Scape
The Scape collection of bags mixes weather-resistant fabrics, smart closures and adaptable attachments. Whether itâs a handlebar bag or a pack, you get storage that keeps gear dry and secure without bulky straps getting in the way.
