SunTour’s journey began in 1912 as Maeda Iron Works in Tokyo, making freewheels and sprockets before expanding into derailleurs. In 1964 they invented the slanted parallelogram rear derailleur, a design that kept the top jockey wheel close to the sprockets for smoother and more reliable shifting under load.

Since becoming SR SunTour in 1988, the company has added suspension forks, Electric Bike systems and precision parts to its range. Today they bring decades of parts-making expertise into every bearing, wheel and component you rely on every kilometre.
