DT Swiss began in 1994 after founders Frank Böckmann, Maurizio d’Alberto and Marco Zingg acquired the wire-drawing business from Vereinigte Drahtwerke in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The initials “DT” come from the German Drahtwerke and the French Tréfileries, both meaning wireworks, reflecting roots that trace back centuries.

Starting with spokes, DT Swiss expanded into hubs, rims, suspension and complete wheels. Every part gets designed for durability, tested in-house for real-ride conditions, and built with care.
