Meet DT Swiss, where Swiss precision meets joyful performance. We make riding simpler, stronger and more fun with wheels you can trust, tools you can count on, and parts backed by decades of innovation.

The DT Swiss Story

DT Swiss began in 1994 after founders Frank Böckmann, Maurizio d’Alberto and Marco Zingg acquired the wire-drawing business from Vereinigte Drahtwerke in Biel/Bienne, Switzerland. The initials “DT” come from the German Drahtwerke and the French Tréfileries, both meaning wireworks, reflecting roots that trace back centuries.

Starting with spokes, DT Swiss expanded into hubs, rims, suspension and complete wheels. Every part gets designed for durability, tested in-house for real-ride conditions, and built with care. That heritage means your ride today has reliability and engineering derived from decades of focus on precision and quality.

Why Ride DT Swiss?

  • Swiss-made craftsmanship informs everything we do: every wheel is hand-built, every spoke manufactured with precision, ensuring dependability on local roads and classic trails alike.
  • Innovative freehub systems like Ratchet EXP, Ratchet EXP OS and the new Ratchet DEG reduce ride lag, improve power transfer and make maintenance easier for all-round riders.
  • Material choice and testing matter: from carbon rims that reduce rotating weight to tough alloy rims that resist impacts, all components go through rigorous testing to make them resilient without unnecessary cost.
  • Transparent product support assures you can access spare parts, service kits and hub tools easily, so your gear stays riding longer, without confusing jargon or hidden limitations.
