The combination Masters A, Elite B and Elite A was a recipe for a hard race at the physically challenging Nerang course. Attacks came early in the race which had Paul chasing down and saw Rick joining a break away for a while to be chased down by the pack.
Hard man James did the majority of the work at the front putting the sting into the hill climb and taking the edge off many rival sprinters and near the end of the race the attrition was evident.
The finish ended in a strung out sprint with TT expert Adam Simonelli taking the win. 99 Bikes team rider Rick lead out Michael to power through the field for a second place, a strong demonstration of the effectiveness of good teamwork.
